It is with mixed emotions that we announce the retirement of Hiroyuki Suzuki from Team YoYoJam. After a long discussion with Hiroyuki, we have agreed that it is time for him to become independent as he pursues his own projects. While we hate to see our "Mickey" go, we are proud of his accomplishments and wish him good luck in his future endeavors. Our friendship will continue and we will look forward to seeing him at future events.

For those of you who are fans of his Signature Series models - don't worry! The Phenom, Phenomizm, Speeder 2, Chaser and SpeedMaker are all designs owned by YoYoJam. We will continue to produce them all, just without Hiroyuki's name on them.

The final production lot of Phenom bearing Hiroyuki's name was manufactured prior to this decision. They are purple with 24k gold rims as requested on this wall. We expect to begin shipping them to stores by the end of next week. There were less than 100 of them made and they are sure to be true collectors items -- so reserve yours with your favorite YYJ Authorized Dealer before they are gone!

Hiroyuki will continue to carry the YoYoJam line in his online store, YoYoAddict.

ASYY è lieta di annunciare la sua presenza alla prossima edizione del Festival del Fumetto, presso il Parco Esposizioni Novegro.
Sull'invito dell'Università Europea degli Sport della Mente (UESM, Casa dei Giochi), staff e atleti ASYY saranno presenti alla manifestazione con uno spazio interamente dedicato al mondo dello yoyo. Un raduno per tutti gli yoer ma anche un evento in cui mettere in mostra la propria abilità attraverso esibizioni e presentazioni di ciò che concerne lo yoyo.

Siete quindi tutti invitati a partecipare, sabato 4 e domenica 5 febbraio, dalle ore 10.00 alle ore 19.00

Ricorda, tutti possono usare le nostre navette gratuite ed in circa 10 minuti ti troverai davanti al Parco Esposizioni Novegro per divertirti insieme a noi.

Frequenza corse andata - ritorno 45 minuti circa. Dalle ore 13.00 alle ore 14.00 pausa navetta.

AUTO

Se vuoi raggiungerci usando la tua auto e provieni da Milano, ti consiglio di percorrere Viale Forlanini verso aeroporto Linate e quindi seguire le indicazioni per il Parco Esposizioni Novegro. Se invece arrivi tramite autostrada ti consiglio di imboccare la tangenziale Est e poi prendi per l'uscita numero 6 Linate.

TRENO

Se hai deciso di raggiungerci usando il treno, ti consiglio di scendere alla fermata FS di Lambrate e da qui usare il nostro bus navetta gratuito per Parco Esposizioni Novegro. Questo è il metodo più veloce ed economi per arrivare da noi tramite treno. Altra possibilità; puoi arrivare alla stazione Centrale e da qui prendere il bus Starfly per aeroporto Linate, giunto all'aeroporto prendi il bus 73 San Felicino per Novegro.

BUS

Se vuoi raggiungerci usando l'autobus devi partire da piazza San Babila in pieno centro di Milano, da qui prendi l'autobus numero 73/San Felicino e scendi alla quinta fermata dopo aeroporto. Dalla fermata FS Lambrate tutti possono usare il nostro bus navetta gratuito per Parco Esposizioni Novegro. Alla stazione Centrale puoi prendere il bus Starfly per aeroporto Linate, giunto all'aeroporto prendi il bus 73 San Felicino per Novegro.

Fhz Pulse

Sogno proibito di ogni yoer che ha tenuto in mano un pulse originale, il FHZ in versione pulse è finalmente arrivato sul mercato

In prima analisi si presenta come tutti i FHZ ma con un'esame più approfondito si nota che è recessato e appena più stretto del FHZ "originale"

la recess non è molto fonda ed è larga come i pad, quindi alla fine è sempre reattivissimo, togliendo un pad migliora ma torna ancora con un colpo di polso, siliconato da un lato migliora ma quando gira veloce e con un pò di decisione nel dare il colpo di polso torna ancora
quindi è lontanissimo dagli yoyo completamente unrensponsive e con gap molto largo che si trovano ora sul mercato (ricordo che monta il cuscinetto piccolo) però è giocabile, ovvio bisogna essere più puliti giocando rispetto ad altri yoyo (cosa che farebbe bene a tutti quelli che hanno iniziato da meno di 3 anni )

ma allora perchè comprarlo ? per le luci ovviamente, l'effetto dei led è spettacolare !
e per mostrarvelo ho fatto questo piccolo video in high speed

Per aggirare il problema della reattività ho sfruttato il fatto di avere già un FHZ clear modificato da Speed, quindi recessato con solco stretto, siliconato, con gli spacer più larghi e con un cuscinetto concavizzato a mano

quindi togliendo i cap dal FHZ nuovo ho tolto la placchetta di plastica con pile e led e l'ho montata nel mio FHZ SpeedMod

così è diventato un'ottimo yoyo con un buon tempo di sleep, non reattivo e con le luci !

il peso aggiuntivo non cambia il carattere del FHZ che moddato resta uno dei miei plasticoni preferiti

Aggiungo che fornito nella confezione c'è un dado anche lui fornito di led azzurro (che viene acceso e spento con una punta di matita o penna) purtroppo non è smontabile, quindi quando esaurisce le pile non si può rimediare

Comprarlo ?
bella domanda, se avete i 30€ necessari, amate le lucine e avete un FHZ clear già moddato oppure la possibilità di dare un paio di modifiche anche al nuovo, SI

se siete abituati allo yoyo super-pro in alluminio con gap da 1 metro, lasciate perdere (seppur giocare con un gap più stretto vi aiuterebbe alla pulizia del gioco...)

X³ Rumour from EYYC

Alcune voci di corridoio ci hanno suggerito che il team X³ stia per allargarsi e pare che il player sarà Italiano.

Siamo pronti a scommettere che si tratta di Riccardo "Blanchard" Fraolini.
Il suo video per il recente contest della X³ potrebbe essere stato particolarmente apprezzato da Alexandre “Xela” Valin (il boss della X³), sono anche buoni amici e inoltre Riccardo ultimamente è stato in Francia dove si è incontrato con alcuni giocatori della X³, ..................

Speriamo di non sbagliarci visto che sarebbe un ottimo connubio.

Lorenzo Ciccia Sabatini porta a casa il titolo Europeo in 4A

Col punteggio di 93.63 punti il nostro Ciccia si porta a casina il titolo di campione europeo in 4A, completato dal secondo posto in 3A, e dal terzo posto in spin-top, bissando l'un due tre Ciccia del 2009.
C'è di che essere soddisfatti. Tutta la comunità di ASYY si complimenta per l'ottimo risultato.

I nostri compilmenti anche Francesco Mikami Gioia, che, al suo secondo europeo porta a casa un rispettabile quindicesimo posto in 1A, che vista la giovane età dell'atleta è dei miglioramenti di cui lo sappiamo capace, è solo un primo passo verso futuri successi.

VsNewtonYYC Sky Walker e Bi-Du ArtigianAle

Ecco il primo abbinamento di una piccola serie di due riguardanti VsNewton YoYo Concepts e il Birrificio Bi-Du. Sky Walker e ArtigianAle, per gli amici Art.

Here is the first in a small series of two pairings involving VsNewton YoYo Concepts and Birrificio Bi-Du. Sky Walker and ArtigianAle (just Art for friends). Just scroll down for the english version.

Il Bi-Du è un piccolo birrificio originariamente basato a Rodero, a pochi metri dal confine italo-svizzero, recentemente trasferitosi ad Olgiate Comasco (rinunciando alla sua iniziale vocazione di brewpup).

Personalmente ritengo Beppe Vento, il birraio, come uno dei principali responsabili dell'affermazione di birre di scuola inglese/americana nel nostro paese proprio grazie all'ArtigianAle. Magari è una deformazione dovuta alla mia percezione soggettiva, ma prima delle numerose affermazioni dell'Art in varie competizione e manifestazioni, se volevo bere italiano, la scelta nei vari beer shop e pub era generlamente limitata a reinterpretazioni di stili belgi e tedeschi. Volendo bere italiano e amaro, la scelta era limitata alla Tipopils del Birrificio Italiano e pochissimo altro. Ora le cose, per fortuna mia, sono decisamente cambiate (forse anche troppo).
Beppe è stato uno dei primi, insieme a Mike Murphy, americano trapiantato a Roma (almeno per un certo periodo), a sperimentare luppoli americani nelle sue birre. Una sperimentazione, proseguita poi con altre birre, che ha portato, negli anni, a identificare nell'uso creativo del luppolo la firma del Bi-Du. Per quel poco che vale la mia opinione, pochi usano il luppolo con il suo gusto ed originalità. In particolare trovo notevole l'abilità di Beppe nel combinare luppoli in modo tale da esaltare caratteristiche aromatiche normalmente in secondo piano.
La Art, seconda nata del birrificio, ma prima in stile inglese, non fa eccezione. Il Cascade viene ampiamente usato, ma ingentilito dal matrimonio con altri luppoli europei, in modo da renderlo meno spigoloso. Diffilmente inseribile in uno stile classico, viene descritta dal suo creatore come un mix tra una bitter (per l'amaro) ed una strong (per il grado alcolico) Ale.
Colore ambrato molto carico, con riflessi rubino, schiuma fine e persistente, leggermente velata
Al naso presenta in un intenso aroma floreale e fruttato (pesca e pompelmo) con un finale resinoso. Avvertibile una delicata nota alcolica.
In bocca i sentori maltati (toffe e caramello) vengono immediatamente bilanciati da aromi di agrumi, spezie, resine. Grado alcolico ben bilanciato dal buon corpo della birra. Finale secco dei luppoli, con amaro deciso e persistente.

Lo Sky Walker (mi raccomando lo spazio) è stato il primo prodotto di uno dei produttori più cool del momento: VsNewton, di cui rimane, senza ombra di dubbio, l'oggetto più desiderato, con quotazioni sul mercato dell'usato, raggiunte da pochi player così recenti (forse solo il Peak è altrettanto ricercato).
Nato come produttore no-profit, il successo sta rapidamente trasformando VsNewton in un fenomeno all'interno del nostro piccolo mondo. Release che, puntualmente esauriscono in pochissimo tempo e bagarini che ne approfittano immediatamente sui mercatini, hanno, però, il loro rovescio della medaglia. Heath, il titolare, ha annunciato che sta seriamente considerando di seguire la via tracciata da CLYW, aumentando i prezzi in maniera sensibile, una inversione a U rispetto al desiderio iniziale di dare alla community ottimi prodotti a prezzi contenuti.
Lo Sky Walker è caratterizzato da uno shape a V con i rim in evidenza tipici dello shape ad H, che, personalmente, ritengo molto confortevole. L'anodizzazione è stata realizzata dalla collaudata Gruntbull per entrambe le run, per cui aspettatevi lo stesso feeling che avete imparato ad associare ai CLYW.
Il sistema di risposta è affidato a del classico silicone, ma è possibile montare alcuni dei pad più diffusi, se proprio non si può fare a meno di rovinare un ottimo yoyo.
Il cuscinetto era un dieci sfere della OD per la prima run, mentre la seconda monta un più anonimo otto sfere.
Ad un primo lancio entrambi gli esemplari in mio possesso, un prima run World Edition (acid wash nero con splash azzurri) e uno Yoda seconda run (acid wash verde con splash marroni) presentano una piccola vibrazione alla prova dell'unghia, mentre risultano perfettamente smooth alla corda. Nulla che infici il gioco, sia chiaro, ma che mi darebbe fastidio sperimentare in una eventuale prossima produzione "riposizionata".
La distribuzione dei pesi è decisamente spinta, e, dati i miei limiti, richiede un KK per apprezzare appieno le doti di estrema stabilità dello yoyo. Una volta lanciato non può che venire in mente il detto Nomen Omen. Arriva in fondo al cordino con una dolcezza e leggerezza invidiabili, complice anche il gap in controtendenza (4 mm), per poi muoversi con agile e veloce, seguendo docilmente i desideri dello yoer di turno. Più che adeguati i tempi di spin, addirittura sorprendenti se paragonati al peso percepito sulla corda, da vero peso piuma.
Tra i progetti "di debutto" che ho avuto modo di provare, sicuramente uno dei più riusciti in senso generale ed il mio preferito in assoluto, un mix perfetto di tutto quello che mi fa amare un yoyo: leggerezza, stabilità, piacevolezza "fisica". Singolare ed encomiabile, almeno dal mio punto di vista, la decisione di Heath di non flooddare il mercato nonostante l'alta domanda. Questa, infatti, doveva essere l'ultima run, e tale rimarrà per, si spera, molto tempo. Dopo varie richieste, Heath ha annunciato che la terza ed ultima run celebrerà la cessazione delle attività di VsNewton.

Perché li ho abbinati. Molto banalmente sono due prodotti con cui è partita l'avventura di due dei mie produttori preferiti che fanno dell'equilibrio e del bilanciamento tra i vari "ingredienti", la loro caratteristica fondamentale. Inoltre si prestano a fare da base ad un futuro, successivo delirio...

Bi-Du is a small craft brewery originally based in Rodero (as a Brewpub), literally a stone's throw away from the italian/swiss border, that recently relocated in Olgiate Comasco (not very far from Como, Varese, Milan and Malpensa Airport) in order to increase production (but loosing the pub part, sadly).
Personally, I consider Beppe Vento, the brewer, one the most influencial people in moving my fellow countrymen's taste toward bitter beers, and that thanks to ArtigianAle. Maybe this impression is based solely on my personal perspective, but, before Art's many achievements at various competions, fairs and so on, if I wanted to drink italian, the choice was mainly limited to reinterpretation of belgian and german styles. If I wanted an italian bitter beer my choice was down to Birrificio Italiano Tipopils and not much else. Now things have changed...maybe a bit too much...
Beppe was one the very first, along with Philadelfia born Mike Murphy in his tenure at Rome's Brewing Company, to experiment with american hops in Italy. What stands out to me is Beppe uncanny ability to combine hops in order to exalt flavours that aren't usually in the forefront.
ArtigianAle, Bi-Du's second outing, but first in a british style, is no exception. Cascade is largely used, but gentled by the marriage with a few european hops. It is described by its maker as a cross beteen a bitter and a strong ale, but, in my opinion, its bitterness can rival a few IPA I tasted.
It pours a deep amber, with ruby red refelexes, with just a hint of hazyness. Rocky head.
Aroma is floreal and fruity (peach and grapefruit) with a piney finish. Light alcohol note.
Toffe and caramel flavours are immediately balanced by citrus fruits, spice and resins. Medium body that balaces alcohol perception. Dry finish.

The Sky Walker was the first yoyo from one of the coolest manufacturers of the moment: VsNewton, and to date is still the most desiderable and sought after of their yoyos, with prices on BSTs rarely seen for a yoyo this recent.

Born as a non-profit company, its own success is turning vsNewton in true phenomenon in our little world. Runs that regularly sell out in a matter of minutes, scalpers immediately taking advantage on BSTs are slowly convincing Heath, the owner, that a raise in princing might be inevitable, an U turn from his initial desire to bring to the community high end yoyos at an affordable price.
The Sky Walker sports a V-shape, with rims reminiscent of an H-shape, that I find very comfortable. Gruntbull took care of annodization, so you can expect the same level of awesomeness that you usually associate with CLYW.
Silicone is the stock response, but the grooves can accept some of most common pads, if you really feel the need to ruin a wonderful yoyo.
Bearing was an OD 10ball on the first run and a more anonymous 8 ball on the second.
Both my Sky Walkers, a first run World Edition and a Yoda second run, have a vibe on the finger but not on the string. Nothing that affects play, but it would disturb me in a future, higher priced, VsNewton run.
Weight placement is quite extreme, and given my limits, I need a KK to fully appreciate the extreme stability of the yoyo. Once thrown the latin saying Nomen Omen comes to mind. It lightly and sweetly hits the bottom of the string courtesy of its 4 mm gap, and then moves swiftly and agilely, faithfully following the lucky owner every whim and desire. Spin times are adequate, even surprising if compared to the perceived weight on the string (light as a feather).
Among debut projects that I was able to throw, I believe the Sky Walker is on of the best from an objective standpoint and my favourite one as far as I'm concerned, a perfect mix of everything I love in a yoyo.

This is the interview to Frank O. co-owner of I LOVE YOYO.

Q: Hi Frank, would you mind explaining who you are, where you're coming from?

A: Hey, thank you for having me.

I'm a student currently. I'm studying for some years already, should be done by now. But well, as it happens, things are more complicated and more time consuming as expected. Especially since I've put many time and effort in this whole ILYY thing.

Q: You are well known in the community for your extraordinary complex and accurate stile of play and your tutorials. How comes you are not to be seen as a competitor in contests?

A: Thank you putting my skill that high. But actually I don't think I'm that good. I'm just decent. Compared to most videos I see, these guys are way better than me. But I never played yoyo for being at the top or for being very good. I play for fun. Thats also the main reason for me not competing. For competitions you have to do certain tricks, compulsory tricks so to speak. I've never learned those. They were boring and no fun to me, so I've never learned that stuff. For instance, I've never learned Eli Hops or Sea Sick and all that stuff that was used for compulsory tricks the last years. Since there would be only German competitions for me to take part in I mainly speak for them of course. It might be different in other countries though.
Also, I was never in the mood to put a freestyle together, to practice and tune it over and over to perfection. Freestyles are totally fixed today, every single move is set and planed. Thats not fun for me, that sounds like work.

Q: What is the story behind ILYY? How did it all start?

A: I'v said this in some interviews already, but we (Dom and me) started this whole thing like 6 months after I got into yoyoing again. (I was into it a bit many years ago, as we had this big yoyo boom, I had a ProYo2 with wooden axle back than.) So, we just met and came up with the idea of making a yoyo that suits our preferences at that point. Just for the heck of it. We did not plan to make more than and hand full.
So, we made up some rough sketches and I contacted some machining shops. After some weeks I found a shop that was willing to try what we've planed. The first prototypes were horrible, nothing like a yoyo at all. The guys at the shop had to learn and understand how a yoyo works and what it takes.
Finally we've got three playable yoyos that we showed of at the German Masters, I guess that was back in 2006 and we've posted it on YYN. I'm talking about E1NS of course. The feedback was great, so one or two prototypes later, we've decided to make a small run of yo-yos and sell them. We went from creating a yoyo for us, to creating yoyos from players for players. The rest is history. :3

Q: ILYY is known for his high quality standards and a bunch of extraordinary well playing yoyos, such as the Wasabi, the Fury, the Falcon. But your willing to experiment has lead to several atypical throws, too. Canflon coating, St.eel, PYBIT and trVth, to mention a few...
Where does this 'willing to do something different' derive from? How is the impact on the community?

A: Well, in our heads we still have that mantra, that we do the stuff for us and for the players. So, if we think, we can do something new, we try it. We always look for new coatings that we can try and we are open for trying new, unconventional shapes.
And at the end, we do, because we can.

Q: What is ILYY planning for the future? Can you give us any hints on future models?

A: Well, the future for ILYY is really uncertain right now. The marked as kind of slowed down for us the last 6 months. Demand is really going back. There are several factors involved like exchange rates, raising production cost, many new brands, many very good brands and products. The USD-EUR exchange rate is one of the biggest problem. Our yoyos are ridiculously expensive outside of Europe. We can't compete, on a price basis, with other, not EUR based manufacturers. Every manufacturer these days provides great quality and outstanding design. So its mainly the price that matters for the consumer.
I've also heard, that our bearing size is holding some people back, but I don't know about that rumor.
We've just released Valve, as one of our new yoyos. There is no run of Pybit or Trvth planed right now. But we might do like 10 of each next year. There is just no demand for more.
For the first months of 2012, we might go back to some of our best sellers and release them in several colors. It mainly depends on what the retailers think is worth making another batch of. It doesn't make sense for use, producing a batch that will not sell. We have to sell every single yoyo of a batch to cover the expenses. We don't produce more than what is demanded. If the demand is really low, we can only make a really small batch.

Q: Which is your alltime-favourite ILYY-yoyo and why?

A: Thats hard to pick. I'd have to go with Lio or Sakura. I just love both shapes. They feel great and are fun to play.

Q: How important is yoyoing to you? Do you ever go out without a yoyo in your pocket?

A: I never go out without a yoyo, but yoyoing got less important for me the last years. I had and still have to focus more on my studying to get it done finally. I don't yoyo much recently. I still can play all the tricks I've played like a year ago, but I haven't learned something new. With some new yoyos recently, like Ywet and Stampede, I have the feeling I'm getting back into it. I would like to spend more time with yoyoing, besides making yoyos.
We had more b-grades, that we don't sell, than usually with the last batches. Plus the fact that sales are going back and demand is going down, there is a lot of frustration involved with yoyoing for me. So its kinda hard to motivate myself to play more.

Q: Who are your favorite players? What are the qualities that make a player stand out of the crowd?

Currently I really like Augie Fash, I love his style and flow. His tricks are really creative. I also really like Mikhail Tulabut. His tricks are mind-blowing! The most recent John Chow video just blew me away as well. Awesome stuff. But there are so many inspiring and creative players out there, its really hard to name them all.
In my eyes, an extraordinary player shines through his flow. The technical aspects are not that important to me. And its kinda sad to see where yoyoing is going recently. Its all tech tech tech, speed speed speed. I'm really sick of all that sidestyle stuff as well, it just doesn't do anything for me. Its more about spectacle and less about flow these days.

Q: What do you think about the yoyomarket today? Aren't there too many manufacturers with too many models for such a small market?

A: There are some big manufacturers that really over saturate the marked with many high quality yoyos at a low price point. There is no way for small manufacturers to keep up with that.
And yeah, there might be too many manufacturers as well. But I've mentioned some of the issues with marked and demand earlier.

Q: We know you've been waiting for years to be given the possibility to answer this question: What is the formula behind red hot sILYYcone?

A: Well, its just a normal product that you can buy, if you know where and what exactly it is.

Al momento sono ancora uno studente. Sto studiando già da alcuni anni, avrei già dovuto finire, ma alla fine, come succede, le cose sono più complicate e occorre più tempo del previsto.
Soprattutto da quando ho messo molto tempo e molti sforzi nel progetto ILYY.

D: Tu sei ben noto nella comunità per il tuo stile di gioco straordinariamente complesso e preciso e per i tuoi tutorial. Come mai non ti abbiamo mai visto come concorrente alle gare?

R: Grazie per i complimenti. In realtà io non credo di essere un giocatore ottimo, sono solo decente, rispetto alla maggior parte dei video che vedo. Ci sono ragazzi molto migliori di me.
Io non ho mai giocato con lo yoyo per essere in cima o per essere il migliore, gioco per divertimento. Per le competizioni devi fare certi trick, certi trick , per cosi dire obbligatori .
Trick che non ho mai imparato molto probabilmente perchè li trovo noiosi e non divertenti per me. Per esempio, non ho mai imparato Eli Hops o Sea Sick e tutti qui trick che sono diventati quasi obbligatori negli ultimi anni.
Parlo ovviamente dei concorsi tedeschi che sono quelli ai quali potrei competere. Potrebbe essere diverso in altri paesi però.
Inoltre, non sono mai stato in vena di mettere insieme un freestyle , di provare più e più volte per sincronizzarsi alla perfezione.
I freestyle oggi sono totalmente preparati , provati e riprovati in ogni singola mossa per trovare la perfezione. Tutto ciò non divertente per me, suona come un lavoro.

D: Qual è la storia dietro ILYY? Come è iniziato tutto?

R: Come ho già detto in alcune interviste, noi (Dom e me) quando abbiamo iniziato tutta questa cosa non avevamo intenzione di fare un'azienda ma volevamo creare uno yoyo che si avvicinasse maggiormente alle nostre caratteristiche e idee di gioco, fino ad allora avevamo tipo un ProYo2 con asse di legno da loop.
Così, solo per il gusto di farlo, abbiamo fatto un po 'di schizzi e abbiamo contattato alcuni artigiani per le lavorazioni. Dopo alcune settimane abbiamo incontrato chi era disposto a farceli.
I primi prototipi erano orribili, niente che assomigliasse ad un vero yoyo. I ragazzi in produzione hanno dovuto imparare a capire come funziona uno yoyo e cosa ci vuole per farlo bene.
Alla fine avevamo tre yoyo giocabili e li abbiamo presentati al Masters tedesco, credo quello del 2006 e l'abbiamo pubblicato sul YYN.
Sto parlando di E1NS naturalmente. Il feedback è stato grande, così uno o due prototipi più tardi, abbiamo deciso di fare una piccola run di yoyo e li abbiamo venduti.
Siamo passati dal voler fare uno yoyo per noi a creare yoyo fatti da giocatori per giocatori.

D: ILYY è noto per i suoi elevati standard qualitativi e un la straordinaria giocabilità, come il Wasabi, il Fury, il Falcon.
Ma la vostra volontà di sperimentare ha portato a diversi yoyo atipici, o finiture particolari tipo il rivestimento Canflon o gli yoyo St.eel, PYBIT e trVth, per citarne alcuni ...
Da dove viene la vostra predisposizione a fare qualcosa di diverso? E come vedete l'impatto sulla comunità?

R: Beh, nella nostra testa abbiamo ancora questo mantra, facciamo le cose per noi e per i giocatori.
Quindi, se pensiamo di poter fare qualcosa di nuovo, lo proviamo. Siamo sempre alla ricerca di nuovi rivestimenti da provare e siamo sempre aperti a provare nuove forme non convenzionali.

D: Qual è la pianificazione ILYY per il futuro? Ci puoi dare qualche novità sui modelli futuri?

R: Beh, il futuro per ILYY è davvero incerto al momento. Abbiamo subito un rallentamento negli ultimi 6 mesi. La domanda è davvero scesa.
Ci sono diversi fattori coinvolti, come i tassi di cambio, l'aumento dei costi di produzione, molti marchi nuovi e molti marchi e prodotti molto buoni.
Il tasso di cambio USD-EUR è uno dei problemi più grandi. I nostri yoyo sono ridicolmente costosi al di fuori dell'Europa. Non possiamo competere, su una base di prezzo, con altri produttori non europei.
Ogni produttore fornisce in questi giorni grande qualità e design eccezionali, così purttroppo è soprattutto il prezzo che conta per il consumatore. Ho sentito dire che le misure dei nostri cuscinetti siano un problema, ma non saprei.

Abbiamo prodotto il Valve uno dei nostri nuovi yoyo, mentre non è stato deciso ancora niente ne per il Pybit o il Trvth. Potremmo farne 10 all'anno, non c'è proprio alcuna richiesta.
Per i primi mesi del 2012, potremmo tornare ad alcuni dei nostri migliori venditori e rilasciarli in diversi colori.
Purtroppo dipende dalla richiesta non ha senso produrre molto perchè se non si vende ogni singolo pezzo non si coprono le spese. Conviene fare run molto piccole.

D: Qual è il tuo ILYY preferito di tutti i tempi e perché?

R: E' difficile scegliere. Dovrei dire Lio o Sakura. Adoro entrambe le forme. Hanno un bel feeling e sono divertenti da giocare.

D: Quanto è importante lo yoyoing per te? Ti capita mai di uscire senza uno yoyo in tasca?

A: Non esco mai senza un yoyo, ma giocare ha perso importanza per me negli ultimi anni. Ho dovuto e debbo ancora concentrarmi di più sul mio studio, per portare alla fine gli studi.
Non gioco molto di recente. Sono ancora in grado di rifare tutti i trick che sapevo un anno fa, ma non ho imparato qualcosa di nuovo.
Con alcuni nuovi yoyo, come Ywet e Stampede, ho ritrovato il feeling per il gioco. Vorrei poter passare più tempo a giocare che a produrre yoyo.
Ultimamente abbiamo avuto più b-grade, che non riusciamo a vendere, più che con i lotti scorsi.
Oltre al fatto che le vendite e la domanda stanno calando, ho un sacco di frustrazione legata allo yoyo. Così è un po 'difficile motivare me stesso per giocare di più.

D: Chi sono i tuoi giocatori preferiti? Quali sono le qualità che portano un giocatore al di fuori dalla massa?

Attualmente mi piace molto Augie Fash, adoro il suo stile e il flow. I suoi trick sono davvero creativi. Mi piace molto anche Mikhail Tulabut. I suoi trick sono mind-blowing!
Il video piú recente di John Chow é incredibile. Roba impressionante. Ma ci sono molti giocatori ispiranti e creativi là fuori, è difficile nominarli tutti.
Ai miei occhi, un giocatore straordinario traspare dal suo flow. Gli aspetti tecnici non sono così importanti per me.
E' triste vedere dove sta andando lo yoyoing di recente. E 'tutto tecnica tecnica tecnica, velocità velocità velocità.
Sono davvero stufo anche di tutta quella roba sidestyle così, semplicemente non mi dice nulla .

D: Cosa pensi del yoyomarket oggi? Non ci sono troppi produttori con troppi modelli per un mercato così piccolo?

R: Ci sono alcuni grandi produttori che in realtà saturano il mercato con molti yoyo di alta qualità a un prezzo basso. Non c'è modo per i piccoli costruttori di tenere il passo con quello.
E forse si ci sono pure troppi produttori . Ma prima di tutto manca la domanda.

D: Sappiamo che stavate aspettando da anni che vi venisse data la possibilità di rispondere a questa domanda: Qual è la formula dietro il red hot sILYYcone?

R: Beh, è semplicemente un prodotto normale che tutti possono acquistare, ma bisogna sapere dove comperarlo e cosa chiedere .

Pare che nel 2012 Frank di ILYY abbia annunciato in uno scambio di mail con Emmanuel Nel Gabriel redattore di Yo-Yo France di voler rallentare la produzione o, addirittura, prendersi una pausa nel 2012

Con ILYY, se la notizia fosse confermata ufficialmente, sarebbe dopo B!st e H-Spin il terzo produttore che chiude o comunque si ferma.
Di certo non una bella annata speriamo in un 2012 migliore

We are of a mind with Emmanuel in judging 2011 an annus horribilis for european manufacturers. Along with B!st and Hspin, ILYY is the third european manufacturer that is considering to slow it's production plans or even thinking to shut busienss down altogether.

Adegle - 4A (Prototype)

Dopo l'uscita del PSG Adegle è pronta per il lancio di due nuovi yoyo dedicati al 4A, WHALE e ROC

I due yoyo sono praticamente identici come caratteristiche ma differiscono nei materiali: il WHALE è in Delrin mentre il ROC è in Nylon.

Right after the PSG's launch, Adegle is reading two new yoyos, dedicated to 4A, Whale and ROC

The two yoyos are almost identica but for the weight and the materials: Whale is in delrin and weighs 71 gr while the Roc is in Nylon and weighs 82.8 gr.

E stavolta sono proprio bootleg, non si parla di "ricopertinature" di yoyo prodotti in Cina per altri marchi, ma di vera e propria contraffazione.
Gli yoyo sono molto simili, ma un occhio attento può notare le differenze già dalle foto: asse e sistema di risposta più grandi, grafiche sbagliate (per assurdo migliori degli originali, visto che sono centrate). Altre differenze sono le anodizzazioni, di qualità più scarsa se viste di persona e alcune colorazioni, mai prodotte dalla YYR.
I pareri di chi li ha provati sono discordi, chi dice che giocano come gli originali, chi sostiene che non ci si avvicinano neanche.
Per cui, ragassuoli, state molto attenti a quello che comprate sui mercatini, richiedete foto su foto.
Altra cosa...ci sono in giro pure Turning Point Bootleg e, anodizzazione a parte, non è ancora chiaro di cosa li differenzi dagli originali. In entrambi i casi manca la confezione, per cui, in caso di trade, pretendetela.
